Catalina Rodríguez Villazón
Catalina Rodríguez Villazón is a Spanish artist born in Asturias, in the north of Spain. She has a degree in pharmacy and a Masters in environmental engineering. She worked for several years in the field of air quality management. Until the day when her path met that of watercolors, it was a case of love at first sight. Her passion for watercolors has continued to grow and has led her to new horizons. In 2017, she decided to leave her job to pursue her passion for art. So she moved to Madrid for 5 years to study for a master's degree in art studies. After the pandemic, she decided to return to her native region to be closer to her family, friends and nature.
The Spanish artist chose watercolor because she is fascinated by the marvels that this technique offers, letting the water work its magic freely and revealing its colors. Through her work, Catalina wants to show that watercolor is an art accessible to all, fun and immensely rich, with infinite possibilities.Catalina also gives courses in Spain and abroad (Japan, Cuba, Italy, Croatia, Greece and Portugal). Her inspirations: everyday life, music and friends, the environment, travel and food, and a long list of artists she admires (Sargent, Hockney, Marta Graham, Rothko, Calder, Käthe Kollwit, Sophie Calle, Monet, etc.).Find the artist on social networks:
